The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri started his Paris visit by meeting at 8:30 am (France time) with French Minister of Finance and Economy Bruno Le Maire at the Ministry of Finance.

Hariri the met with the heads of major French companies for a work breakfast. The companies that participated were Total, Group Aeroports De Paris, General Electric, Bouygues, CMA CGM and Suez.

The meeting was attended by Minister Le Maire, the French Ambassador to Lebanon Bruno Foucher, the French presidential envoy in charge of following up the implementation of the decisions of the CEDRE Conference Pierre Duquesne, the Lebanese Ambassador to France, Rami Adwan and a number of Hariri’s advisers.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Hariri said that despite the difficulties in Lebanon and the region, Lebanon remains a major investment place. He explained the investment opportunities in terms of the Capital investment program, oil and gas, and joint projects.

The meeting came within the framework of the contacts with the French private sector interested in the rehabilitation of infrastructure in Lebanon, especially as the CEDRE Conference notes a role for the private sector in the range of 5-8 billion dollars over the next eight years.
