MASHNOUQ, CHINESE AMBASSADOR DISCUSS ROME II CONFERENCE PREPARATIONS

Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nuhad Mashnouq, on Friday welcomed at his ministerial office Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Kijian, with talks between the pair reportedly touching on preparations underway for the “Rome II” conference and means of enhancing cooperation in support of the Lebanese army and the internal security forces.

The Rome II Conference will be held in Italy upcoming month.

Minister Machnouq also met with “Change and Reform” bloc MP Alain Aoun, who relayed on emerging the Ministry’s complete readiness for the forthcoming parliamentary election.

Talks also touched on electoral alliances.

MP Aoun underlined the unity of the Lebanese position in the face of Israeli threats.
