MEA: NEW PROCEDURE FOR PASSENGERS ARRIVING TO LEBANON STARTING 14 JAN. 2021 TILL 25 JAN. 2021

– The Middle East Airlines issued Wednesday the following press release:

 

As of 14 Jan 2021 until 25 Jan 2021, the following procedures must be applied by all passengers arriving to Lebanon.

 

For all passengers arriving to Lebanon as a final destination:

 

– Passengers, except children under the age of 12 years, must hold PCR negative test result from one of the certified laboratories by local authorities at point of departure and show it at check in.

 

– Negative test result validity must not exceed 96 hours between the test result and the date of arrival to Lebanon.

 

– Passengers who do not carry a negative PCR test result are not allowed to board.

 

– Passengers must complete the medical form issued by the Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon and this is available through this link

 

– Passengers, except children under the age of 12 years and UNIFIL, shall undergo PCR test upon arrival at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.

 

In addition to the above:

 

– Passengers arriving to Lebanon from the following cities: Istanbul, Cairo and Baghdad (arriving passengers means who performed PCR test in those cities and those transiting through) shall have prepaid hotel booking for seven days in one of the hotels designated by Lebanese Ministry of Tourism with discounted rates at their own cost and hotel buses will transport passengers to their hotels.

– Passengers shall quarantine at hotels for seven days and shall perform another PCR test on day six from their arrival to the airport at their own cost.

 

– Passengers with negative PCR result can move to their residence. Passengers with positive result shall follow MoPH instructions.

 

Passengers arriving to Lebanon from other countries shall have a prepaid hotel booking in one of the hotels designated by Lebanese Ministry of Tourism with discounted rates and hotel buses will transport passengers to their hotels.

– Passengers shall quarantine at hotels for 72 hrs. until they are informed of test results that was done to them upon arrival at airport.

 

– Passengers with negative PCR result shall continue quarantine at their residence for another 5 days and shall do another PCR test at their own expenses. Passengers with positive result shall follow MoPH instructions.

 

passengers without hotel booking are not allowed boarding.

 

Exemptions:

 

– UNIFIL and members of diplomatic delegations acting in Lebanon are not required to do PCR test upon their arrival to Lebanon.

 

– Diplomats and their families, officials, official delegations, officers and members of the UNIFIL, land-transiting passengers to Syria through BRHIA and unaccompanied arriving minors (below 12 years) are exempted from the hotel quarantine.

 

– Passengers who have been vaccinated by Covid-19 vaccine with a medical report certifying that, are exempted from the hotel quarantine and must perform a PCR test upon arrival at the airport.

 

– Passengers who have left and returned to Lebanon within one week (who travelled during one day of the week and returned on same day during the following week) are not required to do PCR test at their point of departure but must do the following:

 

If they left Istanbul , Cairo and Baghdad must perform PCR test upon arrival at BRHIA and keep quarantined in one of the designated hotels by Ministry of Tourism for 72hrs. till they are informed by the PCR result and then Passengers with negative PCR result shall continue quarantine at their residence for another 5 days and shall do another PCR test at their own expenses. Passengers with positive result shall follow MoPH instructions.

 

If they left from other countries must perform PCR test upon arrival at BRHIA and shall quarantine at their residence until they are informed of test result.
