Beirut: Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Krameh, on Wednesday engaged in discussions with Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and Second Secretary Saif Majed Al-Mansouri, focusing on strengthening educational cooperation between the two nations.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Dr. Krameh proposed a memorandum of understanding to foster academic exchange, which includes collaboration with the Center for Educational Research and Development and providing capacity-building training for public school educators. The Qatari representatives expressed their keen interest in accelerating the equivalency process for Qatari students wishing to study at Lebanese universities, highlighting that many students are eager to pursue their education in Lebanon.
In addition to the meeting with the Qatari officials, Dr. Krameh welcomed a delegation from Jinan University, led by Dr. Salem Yakan. The discussions centered around the university’s academic programs and addressing pending files at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Dr. Krameh also held talks with a delegation from the ‘Oum El Nour’ association, comprising its founders and the director general. The meeting explored potential collaboration on addiction prevention programs within schools and youth rehabilitation initiatives, aiming to bolster efforts in addressing these challenges in partnership with the ministry.
