Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Condemns Israeli Attacks on Beirut and Suburbs

Beirut: Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian described the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, particularly Beirut and its suburbs, as "brutal, malicious, extremely criminal, and terrorist, with no connection to humanity." He called on the Lebanese state to take necessary measures to aid, shelter, and protect the dignity of the affected people.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Derian urged the government to act decisively, implement its decisions, protect the country, and unify national efforts through diplomacy, national unity, the Lebanese Army, and security forces to maintain stability.

He also called on the UN Security Council to immediately stop the Israeli aggression and end the suffering of the Lebanese people.

Following his guidance, the General Directorate of Islamic Endowments issued a directive to all mosque imams, encouraging special prayers (Du'a al-Qunoot) during Friday and daily prayers for Lebanon's protection, describing prayer as the strongest weapon and safest refuge for seeking mercy and safeguarding the nation.
