ARMY COMMANDER, DUTCH AMBASSADOR TACKLE COOPERATION TIES

Army Commander General Joseph Aoun received on Wednesday at his Yarze office Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, Jan Waltmans, with talks reportedly touching on the general situation and cooperation ties between the armies of both countries.

Afterwards, the army commander held a working meeting with members of the Higher Committee for the Management of the Military-Civil Cooperation Project (CIMIC) in the presence of Ambassador Waltmans and representatives of countries contributing to this project.

The meeting took up the already accomplished measures of the project and the future activities in the coming phase.

Maj. Gen Aoun thanked the Dutch authorities and all countries contributing to this project, hailing the Committee’s efforts in this regard.

Waltmans, for his part, praised the work of the Committee and the Directorate of Military-Civil Cooperation, stressing his country’s continual support to this vital project which contributes to improving the daily living conditions of the Lebanese civil society.

On the other hand, Aoun met with South Commissioner, Mansour Daou.
