Sheikh Aql of the Druze Community, Sheikh Naiim Hassan, delivered the speech of Eid al-Adha on Friday, stressing in his sermon the importance of dissociating Lebanon from conflicts.
“In light of the regional and international challenges surrounding our country, it is in Lebanon’s interest to keep it away from devastating conflicts, to implement the decisions of the national dialogue held in 2006, and comply with the positive results that prevailed after the Bandung Conference,” the Druze Sheikh noted.
Hassan considered that reform in all sectors has become a necessity, starting with the electricity sector, which has become the biggest financial loss in the public treasury.
He then highlighted the importance of coexistence between all the Lebanese, of all sects and affiliations, under the Constitution.
Finally, Hassan denounced the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air.
