Minister of Trade and Economy, Raed Khoury, began a tour to North Lebanon and Akkar region, on Saturday, by visiting the flour factories in Bahsas region, at the entrance of Tripoli.

After lauding the techniques and the quality of the flour, Khoury said his ministry seeks to achieve two main goals: improving the quality of the wheat and encouraging the factories, noting that “local industry creates jobs and contributes to national income.”

Asked about the initiative of “Tripoli, an economic capital”, the minister reminded that “North Lebanon is a reservoir of the national economy and needs to be supported,” adding that the initiative is now on the agenda of Prime Minister Saad Hariri.”

“President of the Republic Michel Aoun considers that the national economy is vital and he always calls for the care of Northern Lebanon,” he concluded.
