YOKOHAMA SUPPORTS LEBANON: JAPANESE RED CROSS PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO LEBANESE COUNTERPART

The Japanese Red Cross pursues its open campaign to help the Lebanese overcome the Beirut Port explosion disaster, at a time when Japanese humanitarian aid is still ongoing, in parallel with the contributions of Lebanese residents and the Lebanese embassy in Japan.

Representative of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Imad Ajami, said: “The last of this chain of aid was a fully equipped ambulance provided by the Japanese Red Cross to its Lebanese counterpart, in addition to USD 1.4 million gifted by the network of non-governmental organizations (Japan Platform) with proceeds from a dinner banquet held at the Al Ain Lebanese restaurant in Yokohama.”

“Japan will not hesitate to support the Lebanese, just like when a disaster strikes any country in the world,” Ajami said, quoting the advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister, Izumi Hiroto.
