MAKARY: CHRISTIAN MPS WILL RESPOND TO PATRIARCH’S CALL FOR A DAY OF PRAYER AND REPENTANCE BUT UNFORTUNATELY WILL NOT ELECT A PRESIDENT

Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, said on Monday that “Christian deputies will respond to the invitation of Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, to a spiritual day of prayer and repentance at Bethany, Harissa, but unfortunately they will not repent nor will they elect a president of the republic.’ In an interview with ‘Radio Free Lebanon’ (RLL), Minister Makary added: ‘we will soon see how we will not be able to appoint any employee in any position after the retirement of the predecessor but instead the deputy will be appointed.’
