Head of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, hosted a dinner banquet at his home in honor of Algerian Foreign Minister, former UN Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, and Saudi Ambassador Walid Al-Bukhari, in the presence of Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, and Political Advisor Carol Zwein and several prominent figures.
Makhzoumi welcomed the attendees, reiterating that the “Taif Agreement is like a constitution for Lebanon, as it put an end to the civil war and rebuilt the state’s institutions,” adding that “it was and will remain the best guarantee for our country and the protector of the National Pact and coexistence.”
Makhzoumi renewed the call for “the implementation of Taif with all its provisions and the initiation of building a state governed by law, consecrating legitimacy and preserving Lebanon’s relationship with its Arab incubator,” considering that “any possible amendment comes after implementation and according to sole national
