Finance Ministry clarifies UN financial dues’ issue

The Lebanese Finance Ministry issued a clarification statement on Saturday regarding Lebanon’s dues to the United Nations General Assembly, confirming that it “has not received any payment request or inquiry from any side,” and noting that “all contributions are independently scheduled annually to be paid according to the request of the authority concerned.”

The Ministry pointed to the “ongoing communication with the various departments concerned regarding their dues,” adding that “it was only this morning that Lebanon received a demand of payment, upon which the Finance Minister gave instructions to settle the amount due on Monday morning.”
