Maronite Bishops Advocate for Stability, Urge Syrian Dialogue, and Push for Reforms.

Bkerki: The Maronite Bishops on Wednesday held their monthly meeting at Bkerki, chaired by Patriarch Cardinal, Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, addressing church and national matters.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, during the meeting, the Maronite bishops expressed cautious optimism about the ceasefire, urging international bodies to ensure its implementation and facilitate citizens’ return to their homes. Moreover, the bishops supported electing a president on January 9 to restore constitutional order and advance reforms.

The Maronite bishops also praised the Lebanese for assisting displaced compatriots and called for sustained international support in post-war reconstruction, emphasizing transparency and accountability. Amid concerns over Syria’s turmoil, the bishops called for dialogue and prayed for peace. Entering the Christmas season, the Maronite bishops encouraged reflection, solidarity, and renewed spiritual commitment.
