Minister of Information, Jamal Jarrah, on Friday welcomed at his ministerial office Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nazih Al-Najari, who said in the wake of the meeting that talks had touched on an array of matters concerning Lebanon and Egypt, “especially on the level of cooperation between the two countries in a bid to activate relations in different areas.”
In response to a question about what had been published by some media about the Suez Canal Authority’s prevention of transit vessels loaded with oil from crossing to Syria, the Egyptian diplomat said: “This is absolutely untrue; we have not prevented any ship carrying oil from crossing to Syria.”
“I do not know the purpose behind these rumors. We have to ask those circulating them about their goal,” Najari added.
