Yarzeh: Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, on Thursday received Lebanon’s Central Bank Governor, Karim Souaid, at his Yarzeh office. Discussions reportedly focused on the financial and economic situation and its repercussions on the military institution, in addition to financial matters directly related to the army.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister Menassa also received MP Jamil Abboud, with whom he discussed the general situation and an array of developmental and services issues. The Minister of National Defense also met with Army Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Odeh, during which they discussed the military institution’s affairs and needs, in addition to operational and administrative conditions, and the progress of implementing the army’s plan to restrict the possession of weapons to the legitimate authority.

Among Minister Menassa’s itinerant visitors for today had been the head of the General Labor Confederation, Bechara Al-Asmar. They discussion touched on the livelihood and social affairs of military personnel and their families.
