Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Tuesday said that he will convene a session for the Council of Ministers this week or by early next at the latest.
“We are preparing the education file relating to the public schools’ strike and the Lebanese University ahead of holding a third cabinet meeting this week of at the beginning of next week,” said Mikati.
“The session will also touch on an array of urgent affairs which cannot be settled outside the Council of Ministers,” he added.
“During the last two sessions, we put the solutions to the healthcare and electricity sectors on track, despite all the irrational objections we heard,” he continued.
“We are working according to the constitution, pending the election of a new president for the country,” he said.
Mikati made these remarks at the launching ceremony of the national strategy for the healthcare sector, at the Grand Serail.
