Beirut: Ministers of Education and Higher Education Dr. Rima Karami, Information Lawyer Dr. Paul Morcos, and Administrative Development Affairs Dr. Fadi Makki conducted a field tour of shelter centers in Beirut, visiting Zahia Salman High School and Allama Sobhi Saleh Public Intermediate School to assess the conditions and secure basic needs for displaced families.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister of Education Karami announced the availability of over 400 educational facilities for the Relief Authority to host displaced persons. She emphasized the Ministry's commitment to educating every child and the launch of remote learning initiatives in border areas to ensure the continuation of the academic year for displaced students.
Karami described the situation as a humanitarian tragedy while highlighting national unity and solidarity among the Lebanese people. She acknowledged the legitimate demands of the displaced for basic necessities and assured that efforts would be made to ensure aid reaches eligible recipients fairly and transparently.
The Minister expressed gratitude to volunteers and initiatives supporting the displaced, emphasizing the Lebanese people's commitment to humanity and patriotism. She concluded with a message of resilience, asserting that the Lebanese will overcome the current ordeal through unity and solidarity.
