Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced on Tuesday that it was continuing road rehabilitation and paving works across several Lebanese regions as part of a program aimed at addressing accumulated damage, improving the road network, and enhancing traffic safety.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ministry reported the completion of rehabilitation and paving works on the Mayfouq-President Michel Sleiman Complex road and the Behdaydat road in the Jbeil district, as well as roads in Majdalia in the Zgharta district. The damaged sections were rehabilitated, prepared, and resurfaced with new asphalt layers in accordance with technical standards.
Currently, works are underway in Ain Anoub, Aainab, and Bdadoun in the Aley district, Beireh in the Chouf district, and Mansourieh in the Metn district, involving repairs to damaged sections, preparation works, and new asphalt paving.
In addition to these efforts, the ministry is conducting repairs to damaged retaining walls along the Bikfaya-Dhour Choueir main road in the Metn district. To facilitate these activities and maintain movement between affected areas, the ministry has coordinated with the Internal Security Forces to implement traffic diversions and alternative routes.
The ministry emphasized that these projects are crucial for improving connectivity between regions, facilitating mobility, and enhancing road safety along the targeted routes. It expressed gratitude to residents and road users for their patience and understanding during the works, underscoring that rehabilitation and maintenance projects would continue on additional roads based on priorities and field needs across Lebanon.
