Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced the commencement of maintenance, pothole repair, and paving works along the coastal highway between Byblos and Chekka. These activities are set to begin on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and will continue for six days.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the works will involve rehabilitation, resurfacing, and paving of the section stretching from the Chekka Tunnel to the Mseilha Bridge. The project will be conducted under the supervision of the Higher Relief Commission.
The ministry has urged motorists to adhere to instructions from the Internal Security Forces and pay attention to on-site traffic signage. Motorists are encouraged to cooperate throughout the execution period to ensure public safety and facilitate the timely completion of the works.
