Beirut: Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, on Tuesday met with a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to initiate a national campaign focused on promoting solidarity and empathy among citizens. The delegation included Peace-building Project Manager, Rami Jabbour, and Communications and Media Officer, Maya El-Dib.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting served as a platform to advance the campaign titled "Together, We Stay Strong, and the Country Recovers Through its People." This initiative seeks to foster shared human values amid ongoing hostile actions, and it is being organized by the Ministry of Information in partnership with the UNDP.

Minister Morcos emphasized the campaign's goal to strengthen humanitarian and national bonds, especially during times of conflict and war, which Lebanon is currently experiencing. The campaign will feature advertisements, videos, and messages aimed at encouraging citizens and public opinion influencers to adopt a discourse that promotes stability and calms tensions, rather than fueling divisions.

The Minister announced plans to launch the campaign soon, in collaboration with various media outlets across audio-visual, print, and digital platforms.

In a separate meeting, Minister Morcos also welcomed Producer Sadiq al-Sabah, who discussed the necessity for media and social media platforms to maintain a calm discourse amidst the country's divided opinions. Al-Sabah expressed his company's willingness to cooperate with the Ministry of Information to produce video content aimed at reducing tension and soothing public concerns.

Additionally, Artist Saad Hamdan met with Minister Morcos, highlighting the critical need for solidarity among Lebanese citizens to overcome current challenges and avoid hate speech.
