Morcos: Salam Advances Contacts to End War as Security, Displacement and Market Oversight Reviewed

Beirut: Information Minister, Paul Morcos, on Tuesday said that Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, reviewed ongoing contacts aimed at ending the war, alongside discussions on the Masnaa crossing, security conditions and traffic management in Beirut, as well as displacement needs and relief requirements.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Interior Minister, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, outlined intensified coordination, patrols and checkpoints to ease congestion and enhance security. These measures are part of a broader strategy to address the current challenges faced by the city and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Defense Minister, Michel Menassa, reviewed army deployments in Beirut, focusing on strategic locations to ensure the safety and security of the populace. The discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust military presence in key areas to prevent any potential escalation of violence.

Officials also addressed the urgent need for securing shelters and school-based hosting centers for those displaced by the conflict. Efforts to combat price manipulation and market violations were also on the agenda, as controlling these factors is crucial to stabilizing the economic environment during these turbulent times.
