The Algerian Embassy in Beirut issued a statement today, saying: “In the wake of the tragic catastrophe that befell the brotherly Lebanese people following the huge explosion that rocked the port of Beirut, and based on the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, four huge relief planes arrived at Beirut International Airport in the early hours of this morning, loaded with more than 200 tons of food, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, tents and blankets, accompanied by a team of doctors, surgeons and civil defense teams, including 50 people.”

“In the same framework, an Algerian ship will be sailing with hundreds of tons of building materials to help rebuild Beirut’s port and the areas affected by the explosion,” the statement added.

“The Algerian Embassy in Beirut seizes this opportunity to reaffirm the depth of brotherly and historical ties that bind the two countries and two brotherly peoples, and renews its solidarity and standing alongside the families of the victims of this painful ordeal, and expresses its hope that Lebanon, the country of civilization and prosperity, will overcome this difficult stage that it is going through,” the statement concluded.
