FENIANOS REVIEWS PUBLIC TRANSPORT PLAN, TRIPOLI PORT UPDATES

Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Youssef Fenianos, met on Wednesday with a delegation of the General Labor Confederation with talks touching on the plan of land transport and the need to expedite its implementation.

The Minister also received from the director of the Tripoli port, Ahmed Tamer, a report on the developmental projects planned for the current year and the coming years, especially those financed by the Islamic Development Bank, which will turn the port of Tripoli into a logistical port.

Tamer underlined the “future vision to turn the port of Tripoli into a strategic location for maritime transport, serving the province of the north and Lebanon and the Arab countries as well as the labor force, thus reducing youth’s immigration,” noting that “the port achieved during the first month of this year a record in revenue since that exceeded $2 million.”
