Head of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, issued on Thursday the following statement:
“What is happening with regard to forming the government is a crime against the Lebanese, because despite all the tragedies that the Lebanese people are experiencing, the condemnable financial collapse, and societal anxiety about the present and the future, what hinders the formation of the government is not a disagreement over the nature of the required reforms, nor about what minister is better at reform than the other. The whole dispute revolves around ‘who seizes what.’ It is a disgraceful tragedy at a time when the Lebanese people, of all classes, are writhing under the weight of the present crisis. It is indeed a miserable time. There is no hope for the current ruling group; the only solution is to conduct early parliamentary elections, right away.”
