Caretaker Minister Charbel Wehbe, sent a telegram to his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt اavusoglu, offering condolences over the casualties and massive destruction caused by the powerful earthquake in Izmir Province.
“I offer my deepest condolences and sorrow to the families of the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey today,” the telegram said.
“We express our deep solidarity with the Turkish people in the face of this painful tragedy,” the telegram added.
At least 19 people were killed and hundreds injured after a powerful earthquake struck Turkey’s western coast and parts of Greece on Friday as both nations vowed to help the other in their recovery efforts.
