Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nouhad Mashnouk, on Wednesday relayed to his Saudi counterpart, Interior Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, “the Lebanese people’s satisfaction vis-A�-vis the atmosphere that accompanied Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s visit to Riyadh last week.”
The Minister also expressed utter satisfaction at the restoration of “serenity and warmth” to Lebanese-Saudi relations.
For his part, Prince Abdul Aziz reiterated his invitation to Mashnouk to visit Saudi Arabia end of March.
During a meeting at the temporary residence of the Saudi Minister in Algiers, where the conference of Arab interior ministers holds its 35th session, Mashnouk discussed with the latter preparations underway for “Rome II” conference. Mashnouk highlighted the importance of having the kingdom voice support to the legitimate security and military forces in Lebanon.
On another level, Mashnouk met with Iraqi Interior Minister Qassem Al-Araji and discussed with him security coordination between the two countries, especially in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information.
He then met with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and discussed him the latest developments in the region, and Lebanon’s needs in the context of combating terrorism.
