Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boulos Rahi, on Monday highlighted the need to form an independent government with a financial, economic, and social rescue plan.
“The country is in need of an independent government,” Rahi said at the opening of the Maronite Synod in Bkirki.
“The new government, which must be distinguished from its predecessors, is required to draw a financial, economic, and social rescue plan,” he added.
Rahi also called for the immediate implementation of reforms to face major crises such as corruption, the independence of the judiciary, and the waste of public funds.
