Director-General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, tweeted today on Lebanon’s Independence Day, saying: “Enthusiastic songs, parades and slogans do not preserve independence, but true independence is to stop securing the interests of all parties through consensus and compromise…What is required is to secure the interest of the nation, while the state of justice is solely safe for all.”
