Siblin: The Palestinian Ambassador Mohammad Al-Asaad, heading a delegation from the embassy, visited today displaced Palestinians at the Siblin shelter center, in the presence of the Deputy Director of UNRWA in Lebanon Oliver Bridge. The visit was carried out under the instructions of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and in coordination with his special representative and Fatah Central Committee member Yasser Abbas.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, during the visit, the director of services at Ain al-Hilweh camp, Abdel Nasser Al-Saadi, provided an update on the recent displacement from the camps and gatherings in Tyre, outlining the services being delivered inside the center. Al-Asaad toured the facility, conveying President Abbas's greetings and reaffirming continued support and efforts to alleviate the suffering of displaced families, including Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians hosted in UNRWA shelters.
He also held a meeting with UNRWA's Lebanon Director Dorothy Klaus, praising the agency's swift response to the displacement crisis and stressing the importance of coordinated humanitarian efforts between UNRWA, the Palestinian Embassy, and the Palestinian Red Crescent. UNRWA's representative thanked the ambassador's visit, noting that the Siblin center hosted around 600 displaced people over the past two days, including several persons with disabilities requiring specialized care.
