Rome: Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, met with President Joseph Aoun during his visit to the Italian capital, where they discussed the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV to Lebanon and the general situation prevailing in the country.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting between Patriarch Rahi and President Aoun focused on preparations for the Pope’s visit, which is anticipated to bring significant attention to Lebanon. Both leaders expressed hope that the visit would foster unity and provide a platform for addressing key challenges facing the nation.

During their discussions, Patriarch Rahi and President Aoun also exchanged views on the current socio-political climate in Lebanon. They highlighted the importance of stability and the role of religious and political leaders in promoting peace and dialogue.
