Pharmacists’ Syndicate Chief Visits Interior Minister, Urges Enhanced Protection for Pharmacies

Beirut: Head of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists, Dr. Joe Salloum, on Tuesday visited Minister of Interior Major General Ahmad Al-Hajjar, accompanied by Vice President Dr. Abdel Rahman Marqabawi, Dr. Ziad Al-Hajj Shahada, and Dr. Bassam Hanini. Dr. Salloum emphasized that the safety of pharmacists, patients, and citizens must be a top priority, beyond all compromise.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Salloum expressed gratitude to the Minister for the arrest of the armed assailant who targeted four pharmacies and seriously injured a pharmacist. He urged for increased police patrols around pharmacies, enhanced protection at the municipal and station levels, and stricter enforcement against smuggled drugs and illegal pharmaceutical outlets.
