Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam chaired a meeting focusing on the development of the Port of Beirut and public transport in the capital. Attendees included Mohamad-Ali Kabbani, Chairman of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), Marwan Naffi, Chairman and Director General of Beirut Port, Ibrahim Zeidan, Beirut Municipality Head, and Judge Marwan Abboud, Beirut Governor.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting aimed at coordinating efforts among various authorities to discuss matters of strategic importance. The primary focus was on integrating port operations with urban mobility plans and prioritizing the city's infrastructure. The discussions included traffic management, development of the road network surrounding the port, and measures to improve access to Beirut, reduce congestion, and resolve bottlenecks impacting port operations and city traffic.
The officials agreed to maintain coordination and pursue joint technical work to create an integrated framework. This initiative is expected to enhance the role of the Port of Beirut and improve mobility and connectivity across the capital.
