Beirut: Pope Leo XIV delivered a touching address during his visit to the Sisters of the Cross Hospital in Jal El Dib, where he was warmly welcomed by administrators, doctors, and patients. He began by expressing his joy at being among them, saying: “I am pleased to meet you all. I greet you with love and thank you for your welcome.”
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Pope emphasized that this visit was a personal desire of his, adding: “Jesus dwells in you, the sick and the sisters. I assure you that you are in my heart and prayers.” He highlighted how their service reflects the spirit of Christ, especially during trying times.
He extended heartfelt thanks to the hospital staff, acknowledging their presence and care as “a tangible sign of Christ’s love and compassion.” He praised the hospital’s founder, Blessed Abouna Yaacoub, referring to him as the “Apostle of Love,” and commended the Sisters of the Cross for continuing his mission with dedication and sacrifice.
Concluding his message, Pope Leo said: “Jesus lives in you and in the staff who care for you. I confirm once again, you are in my heart and prayers.”
