President Aoun Discusses French-Lebanese Relations, Receives Czech Invitation, and Meets New Development Council Head

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday welcomed Am©lia Lakrafi, Member of the French Parliament representing French citizens living abroad, at Baabda Palace. The discussion reportedly touched on the Lebanese-French relations and the role of the French Parliament in strengthening them.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun praised French President Emmanuel Macron’s support for Lebanon, highlighting his contributions to enhancing security and stability across Lebanon and initiatives aimed at aiding Lebanon’s economic recovery.

Separately, President Aoun received the Czech Presidential Envoy, National Security Advisor of the Czech Republic, Tomas Pojar, and the Czech Ambassador to Lebanon, Mrs. Ester Lauferova, among others. The envoy conveyed an official invitation from Czech President Peter Pavel for President Aoun to visit the Czech Republic, emphasizing the desire to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Czech President noted in his letter the long-standing cordial relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that bilateral ties would continue to grow. The Czech Presidential Envoy reaffirmed Czech support for Lebanon, particularly in providing assistance to the Lebanese Army, and expressed readiness to offer further support in appropriate areas. President Aoun thanked the Czech President for the invitation and expressed his willingness to visit.

In addition, President Aoun met with the new head of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Engineer Mohammad Ali Qabbani, and the new members of the Council. The meeting included discussions on the general situation in Lebanon, regional developments, and relations with Europe.
