Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Friday met with UN Secretary-General, Ant³nio Guterres, and his accompanying delegation at Baabda Palace.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Guterres arrived in Beirut via Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport on a solidarity visit with the Lebanese people. He was received at the airport by the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, along with a number of senior UN officials in Lebanon.

In a post on the social media platform X, Guterres wrote: "I have just arrived in Beirut on a solidarity visit with the Lebanese people. They did not choose this war but were drawn into it. Neither I nor the United Nations will spare any effort in striving for the peaceful future that Lebanon and this region so urgently deserve."
