President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, cabled today the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressing his deepest condolences on the passing of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, “who left in the conscience of the Arab and Islamic world a solid imprint impacted by his long years of experience, reflecting a power of persuasion, clarity of vision and the right approach.”

Aoun recalled the late President Bouteflika as “always supporting Lebanon, the unity of its people and the integrity of its land, which gained him a special place in the memory of the Lebanese.”

President Aoun offered his sincere condolences to his Algerian counterpart, the family of the late and the brotherly Algerian people, asking the Lord Almighty to rest his soul in peace in His vast paradise.
