Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, addressed the "Beirut Forum" delegation, led by MP Fouad Makhzoumi, emphasizing the shared responsibility of maintaining security within Lebanon. Aoun highlighted the need for full coordination among citizens, the army, security agencies, and municipalities under the current circumstances.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun detailed the army's redeployment operation in Beirut and other areas, indicating a stronger presence alongside the Internal Security Forces and other agencies. This effort aims to enforce stricter security measures and reassure citizens of their safety.

Aoun assured that the security situation is under control and dismissed fears of sectarian strife or internal chaos. He acknowledged that some are attempting to exploit fears for personal gain but emphasized the difference in current circumstances. The President noted the comprehensive awareness among people and leaders and reiterated his commitment to preventing internal strife.

The President firmly stated that anyone attempting to incite strife, whether through social media or traditional media, poses a threat to Lebanon. He urged distinguishing between national and foreign interests, emphasizing the state's crucial role in Lebanon's salvation.

Aoun commended the resilience of residents in the southern region, asserting that no citizen should face accusations of collaboration or treason for remaining in their hometown. He also highlighted his negotiation initiative's international support, noting its importance in reaching a solution and citing previous agreements with Israel.

The President mentioned ongoing efforts to secure guarantees for the Masnaa border crossing, crucial for both Lebanon and Syria, to ensure it remains unaffected amid regional tensions.
