Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Monday cabled Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, offering condolences over the victims of the terrorist bomb attack that targeted the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Elias in the Dweila neighborhood of Damascus last night.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the cable expressed deep sadness and sorrow over the bombing, which resulted in several victims and injuries. President Aoun condemned the attack and reaffirmed the solidarity of Lebanon with Syria during this tragedy. He extended condolences to Syrian President al-Sharaa, the families of the victims, and the Orthodox Church in Syria, while wishing for a speedy recovery for the injured.

President Aoun also contacted Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All The East John X Yazigi by phone, offering further condolences and condemning the bombing. He expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims, the injured, and the Syrian people.
