Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Thursday received the credentials of five newly appointed ambassadors to Lebanon: Mette Thygesen, Ambassador of Denmark; Patrick Durel, Ambassador of France; Thomas Zahneisen, Ambassador of Germany; Tomas Brundin, Ambassador of Sweden; and Wasa Segun Ige, Ambassador of Nigeria.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the credential ceremony was attended by prominent officials including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi; Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Abdel Sattar Issa; Assistant Director General of Protocol at the Presidential Palace, Colonel Melhem Nehme; and the Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Rola Noureddine.

Upon arrival, each ambassador was welcomed with full ceremonial honors. The army band played the national anthem of the ambassador's respective country as their flag was raised alongside the Lebanese flag at the palace. The ambassadors then saluted their national flag, reviewed a guard of honor from the Republican Guard Brigade, and proceeded through a traditional honor corridor into the "22 October" salon and then to the Ambassadors' Hall, where they presented their credentials to President Aoun and introduced members of their diplomatic missions.

As each ambassador departed, the Lebanese national anthem was played. The ambassadors conveyed greetings from their heads of state and wished President Aoun success in his national responsibilities, expressing their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Lebanon. President Aoun reciprocated with warm greetings to their respective leaders and wished the ambassadors success in their diplomatic missions.
