Raggi Addresses Arab League Council on Lebanon’s Commitment to Resolution 1701

Beirut: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi, addressed the 166th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, emphasizing Lebanon's commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 1701. During the session, held in Cairo, Raggi condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the occupation of substantial areas of Lebanese land.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Raggi highlighted the importance of Resolution 1701 as a framework for addressing current challenges. He pointed out that this resolution, along with the cessation of hostilities agreement, the Armistice Agreement, and the Arab peace initiative, forms the basis of Lebanon's strategic approach.

Raggi further called for international support and the creation of a working mechanism to implement Resolution 1701 and the "trilateral framework." He underscored the necessity of intensifying international efforts to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, appealing for a concerted global initiative to uphold these principles.
