Raggi Meets WFP Representative, Foreign Diplomats

Beirut: Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi on Wednesday received World Food Programme representative, Alison Ouman Laoui, who paid him a protocol visit marking the start of her mission in Lebanon. Laoui expressed enthusiasm to work toward ensuring food security and food safety in the country.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Raggi stated that the Foreign Ministry is ready to fully cooperate with the organization in ways that serve Lebanon's interests and wished Laoui success in her new duties.

The minister also met Azerbaijan's ambassador to Lebanon, Samad Hasanov, and received a copy of his credentials. In a separate meeting, Raggi received Australian Ambassador Andrew Barnes on a farewell visit and wished him success in his future assignments.

Raggi also met a delegation from Lebanon's Public Corporation for Housing headed by chairman and general manager Antoine Habib, who briefed him on the institution's work and challenges and requested support from Lebanese diplomatic missions in informing expatriates about the bank's services and its online application platform.
