Raggi Offers Condolences to UN’s Plasschaert Over Peacekeeper’s Death in South Lebanon

Beirut: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi, reached out to United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, through a phone call to express his condolences regarding the death of an Indonesian peacekeeper. The soldier was killed while on duty with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Raggi commended the sacrifices made by UNIFIL and its continuous efforts to uphold security and stability in southern Lebanon. He requested Plasschaert to pass on his condolences to UNIFIL Commander General Deodato Abagnara and the commander of the Indonesian contingent.

Furthermore, Raggi asked for the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be updated with comprehensive details and information about the circumstances surrounding the peacekeeper's death. This request is pending the completion of ongoing investigations by UNIFIL into the matter.
