Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, recently welcomed French Ambassador to Lebanon, Herv© Magro, for a protocol visit that focused on discussions regarding general developments and bilateral relations between Lebanon and France. The conversation explored prospects for cooperation, particularly in sectors related to the ministry’s responsibilities.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Rasamny also met with MP Ibrahim Kanaan to review the developmental needs of the Northern Metn region, encompassing coastal, central, and highland areas. The discussions included projects allocated in the 2024 state budget that were not executed due to ongoing Israeli aggression, as well as planned projects for 2025. Road rehabilitation and paving works were also on the agenda. Following the meeting, Kanaan emphasized the importance of continued coordination within the framework of the 2026 budget, noting the reallocation of funds for the rehabilitation and paving of the Mkaless-Mansourieh-Ain Saadeh-Broummana-Duwar road.
In a separate meeting, Rasamny engaged with MP Jihad Al-Samad to address infrastructure concerns, focusing on the Zgharta-Dannieh road network and other roads in the Dinnieh district. Discussions also considered the potential rehabilitation of the road connecting Tripoli to the Majdalaya roundabout, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion during the summer by providing an alternative route.
Additionally, MP Faisal Karami discussed with Rasamny the latest national developments, along with service and development-related matters in Tripoli. Minister Rasamny also held meetings with MPs Sami Gemayel and Waddah Sadek to discuss public affairs and regional development issues comprehensively.
