The Russian government announced that 679 deaths from Covid-19 were recorded, which is a record number for the fifth consecutive day, and it comes at a time when the country is witnessing a widespread outbreak of the delta mutant, according to AFP.

Russia recorded 24,439 new infections today, the highest toll since the second epidemic wave in mid-January.
