Beirut: New reports from Mehr News Agency and Axios outlined details of a proposed Iran-U.S. memorandum of understanding that could serve as the basis for a broader agreement.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the framework includes a 60-day ceasefire covering all fronts, including Lebanon, alongside renewed negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. The proposal reportedly calls for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, temporary sanctions relief allowing Iranian oil exports, and the phased release of frozen Iranian assets, with figures of up to $24 billion cited in some reports.

The reported framework also includes Iranian commitments regarding the non-acquisition of nuclear weapons and arrangements to address highly enriched uranium stockpiles, while more detailed nuclear provisions would be negotiated in a subsequent agreement.

Reports indicate that mediators from Qatar and Pakistan played a key role in shaping the proposal. However, no final agreement has been officially announced, and key elements, including implementation mechanisms and the release of frozen assets, remain under negotiation.
