Tripoli: Civil defense teams and the Red Cross succeeded late last night in rescuing a mother and her son from beneath the rubble of a collapsed building in Qubbah, Tripoli, following more than 24 hours of continuous search and rescue efforts. The rescue operation took place amid chants of “Allahu Akbar” from residents who had gathered around the site throughout the night, anxiously awaiting news of survivors.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, another woman from the same family remains trapped in a different section of the collapsed building. She is unconscious, and the Red Cross has reportedly detected faint heartbeats. Rescue teams are continuing their efforts to reach her and pull her to safety.
