Beirut: Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi engaged in discussions today with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, which included Director Khawaja Aftab, Beirut Office Manager Enrique Armas, Regional Director for Public-Private Partnerships and Project Finance Michael Obagi, and Investment Officer Mazen El-Saad. The meeting primarily addressed the construction of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) and the import of gas needed for the Deir Ammar power plant. Additionally, the potential for attracting investors to build a second, advanced gas-fired power plant in Deir Ammar was explored.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Saddi also conferred with Iyad El-Hazzaa, the Charg© d'Affaires of the Syrian Arab Republic in Lebanon. Their discussions centered on the ongoing collaboration between the two nations, focusing on energy and gas import initiatives.
