Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday held talks at the Grand Serail with a delegation from the Association of Former Armed Forces Personnel, headed by former MP Brig. Gen. Chamel Roukoz, as Lebanon grapples with mounting security and national challenges.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in a statement issued after the meeting, the association said it had placed its full capabilities and accumulated expertise at the disposal of the Lebanese state, affirming the readiness of its members to contribute to national efforts aimed at bolstering resilience, supporting stability and assisting official institutions.
The delegation underscored the importance of national unity and enhanced coordination between state bodies and civil actors to safeguard Lebanon's security and sovereignty and reinforce internal cohesion during the current critical phase.
It added that former servicemen remain committed to defending the nation, stressing that their experience will continue to be mobilized in service of Lebanon and its people under the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions.
