Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister Salam has emphasized the urgent need for bolstering the Lebanese Army, amid growing regional tensions and security challenges. In a statement to An-Nahar, Salam highlighted the importance of strengthening national defense capabilities in light of current circumstances.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, regional developments have taken a concerning turn, with reports of Israel breaching established boundaries, leading to a climate of insecurity even among its traditional allies. This sentiment was echoed by Al-Akhbar, which reported on the implications of these actions for regional stability.

Meanwhile, Al-Joumhouria reported on an unsuccessful Israeli assassination attempt targeting Hamas leaders in Doha. The report also noted Qatar’s denial of having received any prior notification from the United States regarding the incident. This incident has further heightened tensions in the region.

In a related development, Nidaa Al-Watan highlighted a significant political
statement made by Salam from Ain al-Tineh’s platform. Dubbed a ‘Sovereignty Statement,’ it underscores Lebanon’s commitment to maintaining its autonomy and sovereignty amidst external pressures.
