Abu dhabi: During his visit to Abu Dhabi, Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh met with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi. The meeting discussed the mechanism for strengthening cultural cooperation between Lebanon and the UAE in various sectors. The revitalization of the Grand Theatre was also discussed. Minister Salameh expressed his deep gratitude for the initiative of the Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, to rehabilitate the theatre. The latter was the first to support the international campaign launched by Minister Salameh and the Director-General of UNESCO during her recent visit to Lebanon.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Salameh also highlighted the UAE’s contribution to the reconstruction of the Grand Mosque of Al-Nuri and its Al-Hadba minaret in the Iraqi city of Mosul.
